Jaguar XKR Silverstone Ltd Edition (2001)
The XKR Silverstone was a limited edition of the mark 1 Jaguar XKR, released to celebrate Jaguar's ill fated return to Formula 1 racing.
Jaguar made just 600 XKR Silverstones worldwide, all finished in the 'Platinum' metallic silver paint finish, 'warm charcoal' perforated leather sports seats with red stitching, a birds eye maple grey wood dash, and Sivlerstone metal detailing on the interior.
The Silverstone was also used to showcase Jaguar's range of 'R Performance' accessories that would become options on the standard Jaguar XKR once the Silverstones has sold. These included the 20" Silver BBS 'Detroit' alloys which looked fantastic, and surprisingly did little to affect the ride quality, and also the improved suspension, and larger Brembo brake discs and calipers.
The Silverstone was a success, all 600 models sold out quickly, and as a limited edition, still commands a slight price premium over a standard XKR of the same age.
