Jaguar XKR Portfolio (2007)
The Portfolio was the first of the special editions of the Mark 2 shape aluminium Jaguar XKR. Launched summer 2007, the car featured several developments that Jaguar had pioneered with the XKR track cars that were (and still are) available to race at Jonathan Palmers Bedford Autodrome. These cars had developed improved Braking systems from Alcon, which Jaguar brought to the portfolio for road use.
Jaguar had also been working on relationships with Bowers and Wilkins the British high end Audio manufacturer, who had produced a fantastic speaker system for the C-XF concept car, and went on to develop an upgraded sound system for the XKR, featuring B&W's signature yellow kevlar speaker cones.
The The XKR Portfolio was only available in a special 'Celestial Black' pearlescent paint, with a choice of either the charcoal or Ivory luxury leather upgrade interior, 20" Cremona alloys and had a unique 'engine spun' aluminium finish to the dashboard.
It was released in limited numbers - the UK Jaguar dealers got approximately 1 each to sell, and sold out very quickly, but as usual with Jaguar, most of the unique standard features of the Portfolio such as the B&W sound system and the Alcon brakes were released soon afterwards as cost option upgrades for the standard car.
